Smartoscope Vario-Adapter for Smartphones (Incl. Opticsrail K30)

The Smartoscope Vario-Adapter is a high-quality, universal digiscoping adapter. This adapter is suitable for almost all smartphones currently on the market in an extremely uncomplicated manner. In most cases, the protective cover can remain on the smartphone and the optics rail can be placed in front of the preferred lens* when multiple camera lenses are available.

Standard the Smartoscope Vario-Adapter comes with a K30 optics arm which can be used in combination with Kowa spotting scopes and binoculars. The K30 optics arm has a 30mm screw thread which makes it suitable for the extensive range of Smartoscope adapter rings from Kowa. Also for Swarovski and Zeiss users, the Vario adapter offers the same convenience: optics arms are available which work with the original Swarovski PA or AR adapter rings and accessories are also available for the original Zeiss adapter rings.

Smartoscope Vario-Adapters are made of CNC-milled aluminium with the inside covered with rubber. By using aluminium the adapters are lightweight and optimised for durability. Thanks to the possibility of exchanging individual components, the Vario-Adapter can also be described as future-proof.

* Depending on the smartphone model, its software may combine images from different lenses and therefore not all lenses are suitable for digiscoping! For information on this, please refer to the operating instructions of the relevant smartphone.

Application Smartoscope Vario-Adapter for Smartphones (Incl. Opticsrail K30)

With the Smartoscope Vario-Adapter it is possible to connect almost all smartphones with almost all spotting scopes and binoculars currently available on the market. For Swarovski and Zeiss, the Vario can be easily expanded with specific optics arms and adapter rings without sacrificing reliability and stability. For all other brands or when you want a more universal adapter, the Vario can be expanded with the Smartoscope UR-4.

Whichever of the options below you choose. Simply attach the appropriate adapter to the 30mm thread of the Smartoscope Vario and slide it onto the eyepiece to start digiscoping. The optional adapters can be found under optional accessories.

Smartoscope UR-4

The optional Smartoscope UR-4 is a high quality, adjustable eyepiece adapter ring that attaches securely to the optics arm of the Smartoscope Vario adapter via a 30mm thread.
It is the gateway between the Smartoscope adapter and the eyepiece and allows connection to most spotting scope eyepieces from small to large. Four adjusting screws engage the inner compression ring that is used to secure the adapter ring to your eyepiece without damaging or marking the eyepiece cover. The ring includes rubber strips to reduce the inner diameter of the adapter ring for added versatility and compatibility with most eyepieces of all brands.

Opticsrail K30 (Kowa)

The supplied has been carefully designed to fit Zeiss Exolens smartphone rings and other Zeiss digiscoping eyepiece rings with a diameter of 13mm. Sold separately from the Smartoscope Vario Adapter.

Opticsrail Z13 (Zeiss)

The optional Opticsrail Z13 has been carefully designed to fit Zeiss Exolens smartphone rings and other Zeiss digiscoping eyepiece rings with a diameter of 13mm. Sold separately from the Smartoscope Vario Adapter.

Opticsrail S15 (Swarovski)

The optional Opticsrail S15 can be used with the Swarovski PA (15mm) Smartphone rings with a diameter thread of 15mm. Sold separately from the Smartoscope Vario adapter.

Opticsrail S16 (Swarovski)

The optional Opticsrail S16 is specially designed for owners of Swarovski AR (16mm) adapter rings with a thread diameter of 16mm. Available separately from the Smartoscope Vario Adapter.
