DescriptionSamyang AF 45mm F1.8 - Sony E description

With a weight of only 162 grams, Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is a perfect lens for Sony photographers who want to keep their photo equipment as compact and lightweight as possible, without sacrificing functionality or optical quality. The lens is compatible with full-frame sensors (24x36mm) and its focal length makes it ideal for photographing everything from children to street scenes, travels, landscapes and other documentary subjects. But Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE can also be used with Sony's A6xxx series cameras with the smaller APS-C format sensor, where 45mm becomes a short telephoto lens. Ideal for portraits! A lens for discreet photography The autofocus motor in Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is both fast and accurate but also quiet. Along with the fast aperture, it makes the lens suitable for situations where you don’t want to be seen or heard too much. For example, weddings and other ceremonies where camera sounds or the use of a flash can be perceived as disturbing. The round aperture opening with nine blades contribute to give the pictures a soft and beautiful bokeh, which is especially appreciated in portrait photography. The lens can also focus as close as 45 cm, a feature that can be used to photograph interesting details you can mix among the other images to create a more captivating story. Warm and brilliant images Although Samyang AF 45mm f/1.8 FE is designed to be as small and lightweight as possible, it provides a truly impressive result. Its optical construction consists of 7 elements arranged in 6 groups. To minimize optical errors and ensure high sharpness even at large apertures, two aspherical elements and one made of ED glass (Extra-low Dispersion) are included. And like other Samyang AF lenses, the 45mm f/1.8 also adds a bit of warmth to the images, something many users appreciate. Samyang’s advanced Ultra Multi Coating ensures that the images show high contrast and brilliance even in difficult lighting conditions

1. How to choose the right lens for a mirrorless camera?

When choosing the right lens for a mirrorless camera, it is important to consider your photography needs and style. First, decide on the resolution and focusing distance you require. For portraits, lenses with a wide aperture, such as a 50mm f/1.8, are often preferred. If you enjoy landscapes, go for a wide-angle lens (e.g., 24mm). To capture distant objects, telephoto lenses (e.g., 70-200mm) are useful. Another important factor is the lens’s light-gathering ability, which affects performance in low-light conditions. A stabilization system can also be important, especially for longer lenses. It’s important to evaluate the build quality of the lens and the manufacturer's reputation. Try out several lenses and consider your future needs to choose the right and long-lasting investment in your photography.

2. Are all lenses compatible with all mirrorless cameras?

Not all lenses are universal for all mirrorless cameras. Different manufacturers may have different mounts, so it is important to check the lens compatibility with your camera. For example, lenses for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and other manufacturers' mirrorless cameras may not be interchangeable without adapters. It is also important to consider the sensor size. APS-C lenses may be disproportionately large for full-frame cameras. Before purchasing a lens, it is advisable to check the manufacturer's compatibility chart and consider the specific requirements of your camera. Adapters can allow the use of third-party lenses, but there may be some loss in functionality or quality.
