Unitek S1230A is an enclosure created for M.2 drives, the latest standard among storage media. M.2 drives are much smaller than their 2.5" counterparts, and this enclosure is suitable for M.2 2280, 2260, 2242 and 2230 drives. The first two digits in this designation indicate the width of such a drive (22 mm in each case), and the next two indicate its length. The Unitek S1230A enclosure is compatible with all the listed M.2 drive lengths.

Fast data exchange compatibility with NVMe and SATA interfaces

The S1230A is a universal enclosure for M.2 drives and is therefore compatible not only with all available drive sizes, but also with NVMe and SATA interfaces. The NVMe specification represents a new standard in data transfer, placing a drive in an NVMe-compatible enclosure enables data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps.
