Hikvision IP camera DS-2CD1053G0-I is a professional surveillance device with high quality vision. It is a sleeve model, designed for surveillance installations of all sizes. It is recommended both in industrial areas, as well as in home systems or small businesses. Relatively low price and small size of the housing with preserved excellent image quality, as in the industrial series, is an undoubted advantage of this camera model.
IP cameras are used in variable observation conditions, so they are equipped with a number of technologies ensuring insensitivity and active adaptation to heterogeneous monitoring environment. In addition, it has numerous functions related to image correction and intelligent systems that ensure trouble-free identification of each of the recorded objects.
The Hikvision DS-2CD1053G0-I IP camera has a 1/2.7 CMOS progressive scan sensor, which records images at 5 MP (2560×1920) resolution. This provides a high quality image with visible detail and natural colour reproduction. It has a 2.8 mm fixed focal lens with a viewing angle of 100° horizontally and 74° vertically.
The camera's housing is IP 67 rated, which provides effective protection against weather conditions (full dust and water resistance) and acts of vandalism.
The camera can be powered in a conventional way (from a 12V power supply) or via PoE technology that enables transmission of data and power via a single cable using a suitable DVR or switch. The device has a built-in SMART IR illuminator, which allows to obtain good quality images in difficult conditions, such as at night or without any lighting.

The most important functions of IP cameras
- The motion detection system is an intelligent function which enables to start recording video recordings when objects moving within the operating area of the device are detected. This maximises the viewing time of the video footage and gives you the option to receive a notification if there is movement in the camera's field of view.
- D-WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) wide dynamic range of exposure, i.e. compensation of strong contrasts and brightness differences. It improves the reproduction of the scene in the case of large differences in the level of illumination of different parts of it. This technology perfectly copes with image recording in the presence of non-uniform exposure of the frame.
- 3D DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) digital noise reduction function. It filters the pixels of the sensor in order to remove noise in the recording caused by interference (e.g. from changes in signal intensity) and the correct rendering of colours by the camera. This allows for clear and transparent recordings both during the day and at night.
- AGC (Automatic Gain Control) is an advanced function that allows the system to increase the signal level. The correction, applied on an ongoing basis, ensures stable image quality captured under changing observation conditions.
- AES (Automatic Electronic Shutter) function, which guarantees the appropriate exposure of the material regardless of changes in lighting.
- BLC (Back Light Compensation) function preserves clarity and detail of objects in both the foreground and background of the observed scene.

Functional menu and free software
The modern and intuitive menu in Hikvision cameras allows you to test the camera at any time and conveniently view live images. Setting image parameters is extremely intuitive. The stability of the camera's operation is ensured by the option to back up settings, and the preventive function of the automatic camera restart secures the daily effectiveness of monitoring. The possibility to set and select built-in analytics, such as line crossing, vehicle/human object discrimination provides countless analytical possibilities of the recorded image, or to trigger external logic. Higher camera models in line with the decentralisation trend have built-in analytics. As edge network devices, some cameras have built-in analytics based on artificial intelligence AI algorithms and already from this level they analyse the image and send all the information to the DVR.
SADP Tool is software that allows you to find Hikvision devices in your local network, activate them and change basic network parameters. Now it is possible to conduct monitoring from almost any place and at any time.
Hikvision provides free software for users of monitoring cameras iVMS-4200, which makes the configuration and management of devices intuitive and easy. The use of the access application guarantees immediate notification of the user about a possible duplication of the IP address of the camera or a loss of connection with the device, which significantly protects the proper operation of the video surveillance system and maintains its efficiency.
The main options include: video recording from cameras, live image viewing, extensive alarm and access control functions. In one application you can control monitoring systems, access control or video door entry systems. Extensive settings functions allowing to change them to a full extent are invaluable. The software can use intelligent functions of video analysis.
The cameras send images to the NVR, which collects the recordings. If the device uses built-in analytics, recordings can be easily found by any defined parameters. From the application level it is possible to search for specific recordings, e.g. where an object has crossed a line, intruded into the area of vision, or more advanced ones, such as face detection or disappearance of an object from the field of view.
The modern design of the Hikvision iVMS application and its availability in many languages, including Polish, are additional advantages of this solution. iVMS software is commonly used in small and medium-scale monitoring. In the case of more complex systems, a useful function of the application is the ability to create accounts with different levels of authorisation.
A free user application (Android, iOS) prepared by Hikvision is Hik-Connct. It is designed for users who want to effectively use and manage their security devices via a smartphone or tablet. Hik-Connect is a cloud-based service that gives access to Hikvision devices from virtually anywhere in the world.
Push notifications send you real-time information about the status of your devices. Live monitoring informs the user about what is happening at their facility. The application is extremely intuitive, the registration of the device is done easily through a web browser or via QR codes.
An additional advantage is that the Hikvision P2P service does not require the user to have additional port forwarding or a permanent external IP number. The cloud monitors the status of devices via a unique ID number, always knowing if the device is online and informing the user of any problems.
