Its full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor provides fast readout, reduced rolling-shutter distortion and detailed high-frame-rate recording. The BIONZ XR2 image processor includes an integrated AI processing unit for advanced recognition of human, animal and bird eyes, reliable subject tracking and more accurate automatic white balance. Fast Hybrid AF uses up to 759 phase-detection points. Internal 16-bit scene-linear X-OCN RAW recording eliminates the need for an external RAW recorder. X-OCN LT, C1 and C2 options allow productions to balance image quality, data rate and post-production flexibility. The 5K Open Gate mode uses the full 3:2 sensor area, providing additional freedom for reframing, stabilisation and creating horizontal, vertical or square versions from the same footage. The camera offers more than 15 stops of latitude and three Base ISO settings: ISO 800, ISO 4000 and ISO 12,800. Built-in 5-axis image stabilisation supports steadier handheld shooting. Dynamic Active Mode adds electronic correction, while recorded gyro metadata can be used for additional stabilisation during post-production.
