5X OPTICAL ZOOM LENS TO CAPTURE A WIDE RANGE OF HIGH-RESOLUTION PHOTOS
The Pentax WG-90 delivers crisp, clear, high-definition images with high dynamic range and low noise thanks to a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approximately 16.0 effective megapixels for outstanding light reception efficiency and a high-performance image processing engine. The compact and lightweight body of the WG-90 features a 5x optical zoom lens with a focal length range of 5mm to 25mm (equivalent to approximately 28mm to 140mm in 35mm format) to capture a wide range of scenes and subjects, from sweeping landscapes to telephoto photography at long distances. Combined with the digital zoom function, the zoom range can be increased by approximately 36 times.
OUTDOOR-READY LCD MONITOR
The Pentax WG-90's 2.7-inch LCD monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio and approximately 230,000 pixels is coated with an advanced AR (anti-reflective) coating to reduce annoying reflections and flare. Its Outdoor Image Detection mode allows you to optimise the monitor's brightness level according to the ambient lighting conditions - whether it's outdoor shooting under harsh sunlight or night photography - to improve the visibility of the on-screen image. The brightness level can be increased or decreased in two steps in either direction.
25 SCENE MODES TO CHOOSE FROM
The Pentax WG-90 allows you to select the desired scene mode from 25 options, including Auto Image, which automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode for a given scene or subject to preserve it in a beautiful image; Landscape, which vividly captures the green hues of trees and the blue hues of the sky; and Underwater and Underwater Film, which reproduce the natural colours of the underwater world by optimising the white balance to reduce bluish colours.
FLASH OFF + FLASH ON OPTION FOR SHOOTING TWO IMAGES IN SUCCESSION
When using underwater mode, this creative option comes in handy when photographing underwater animals. With a single press of the shutter, the Pentax WG-90 automatically captures two images - one without flash and one with flash - reducing the time and hassle of operating the camera and allowing you to concentrate on the composition of the image.
CONVENIENT MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY TOOLS
Macro photography allows you to capture very detailed close-up images of small objects such as tiny petals and insects. The Pentax WG-90's 1 cm macro lens mode allows you to capture your subject from just one centimetre away. It features six LED macro lights ideally positioned around the circumference of the lens barrel. In Macro mode, these lights allow you to adjust the intensity of the illumination at five different levels to ensure ideal lighting conditions and avoid unwanted shadows. The Digital Microscope mode comes in handy when you want to quickly switch from normal photography to macro photography using the six LED macro lights. The WG-90 allows you to creatively and effortlessly capture the amazing microscopic world that is normally undetectable to the naked eye. A macro stand is included as a standard accessory to stabilise the Pentax WG-90 at a minimum focusing distance of one centimeter for extended observation and shooting.
INTERVAL MOVIE MODE
Interval Movie mode automatically captures a series of images at a set interval, then combines them to create a single interval (time-lapse) clip. You can choose the desired interval setting: 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. The WG-90 also has an interval shooting mode that can automatically record a series of still images at the desired interval without merging them into a movie clip.
CREATIVE AND FLEXIBLE PROCESSING OF CAPTURED IMAGES
The WG-90 ink erasure filter allows you to save your captures at random as creative digital images. By applying this filter to a captured image, you can effortlessly create a unique image that resembles an ink stamp. Since the filter effect can be adjusted in five levels, you can even create a high-contrast, monochromatic image of your catch. The WG-90 also comes with other creative features that allow you to put a unique and creative spin on your captured images. These include digital filters and original photo frames for changing tones, adding special visual effects, dramatizing images or creating different environments.
FULL HD VIDEO RECORDING
The Pentax WG-90 has three movie modes to choose from: Full HD Movie (16:9 aspect ratio, 30 fps); High Speed Movie for slow motion recording and Underwater Movie for underwater-only shooting. In Movie and Underwater Movie modes, you can use Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode to reduce camera and subject shake. You can even select a single frame from a captured movie clip and save it as a still image, or split the movie clip into segments. The camera also includes an HDMI connection (Type D) for easy connection to and playback on a TV monitor or other audiovisual devices.
AN ABUNDANCE OF CREATIVE TOOLS
The Pentax WG-90 has a range of other handy creative tools designed to make the camera easier to operate or perform creative functions, including Smile Capture, which automatically releases the shutter when the camera detects a smiling face; Self-Portrait Assist, which flashes the LED lamp when the camera detects the face of the subject; an automatic self-timer; and compatibility with an optional remote control.

ADJUSTABLE BRIGHTNESS MACRO LIGHTING MODE
The Pentax WG-90's Macro Lighting mode allows you to switch on six LED macro lights arranged around the lens barrel and use them as a lighting device in the dark, with five brightness levels. As this mode can be used for macro photography, it is useful when you want to illuminate a small space by fine adjusting the brightness level.
