Panasonic Lumix GH7 offers dramatic enhancements in the speed and quality of video production, and more. 25.2M BSI CMOS sensor and improved AF performance with Phase Detection Autofocus that added Real-time Recognition AF for Human/Animal/Car /Motorcycle/Train/Airplane. Internal recording of Apple ProRes RAW and 32-bit float recording which does not require adjustment of the sound recording level during shooting. Adobe Cloud compatible; Real-time LUT. Panasonic Lumix GH7 brings key upgrades to make your content clearer, and brighter than ever before. Phase Hybrid AF continuously tracks subjects, allowing the GH7 to capture them quickly and precisely. The camera's Dynamic Range Boost enables a wide dynamic range at all ISO sensitivity ranges.

EFFICIENT WORKFLOW

Panasonic Lumix GH7 is built to make your workflow seamless. ProRes RAW HQ internal recording and 32-bit float format recording can be performed on the camera body itself, making it possible to produce high-quality and high-efficiency content with minimal setup.

WORLD'S FIRST 32-BIT FLOAT RECORDING

When combined with the DMW-XLR2 (sold separately), the Panasonic LUMIX GH7 delivers the world's first 32-bit float recording,* improving the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow. With its wide dynamic range, the 32-bit float format records more information, from quiet to loud sounds, eliminating the need for tedious sound level adjustments during audio recording. *For an interchangeable lens digital camera, as of June 5th 2024. According to Panasonic's research.

PRORES RAW HQ INTERNAL RECORDING

5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ footage can be recorded on the camera body itself, giving you the freedom to capture the moment at the click of a button with minimal setup and no need for external devices. Improved gimbal compatibility also expands the range of expressions. *Recording is not possible on the SD card.

ARRI LOGC3 RECORDING

By using DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately), users can use the ARRI LogC3*, which enables color matching with ARRI’s digital cinema cameras. The image processing of the ARRI LogC3 curve on LUMIX GH7 has been certified by ARRI for the implementation of this function. The options for Log recording, which provides rich color information and a wide dynamic range, have been expanded to include ARRI LogC3 in addition to the conventional V-Log, further improving LUMIX’s workflow compatibility. *ARRI LogC3 is a Log gamma developed by ARRI and used in ARRI digital cinema cameras. Please note: ALEXA 35 uses ARRI LogC4. *On the LUMIX GH7, ARRI LogC3 can be used for 10bit recording in Creative Video mode. ARRI is registered trademarks of Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG.

OUTSTANDING RELIABILITY

No need to stop shooting due to overheating. The GH7's compact body and heat dissipation structure enable extended recording even when shooting at heavy loads (4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, ProRes RAW HQ).

PHASE HYBRID AF

The most important thing with autofocus is to be dependable. In addition to contrast AF, the LUMIX GH7 offers the Phase Detection AF system, which dramatically improves subject tracking performance and metering technologies. The camera can capture the subject even in challenging scenes in which multiple subjects are involved, delivering accuracy even in backlit or low-light environments.

REAL-TIME RECOGNITION

The LUMIX’s advanced detection AF pushes the envelope on sports, wildlife, and car/motorcycle photography. The LUMIX GH7 can now recognize a wider range of subjects and target parts, including human and animal eyes, the front of vehicles, the helmets of drivers and motorcyclists, the first car of a train, and the nose of an airplane.

RICHER TONAL EXPRESSION

Dynamic Range Boost function acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real time to create composite images with rich tonal range even in scenes with significant luminance differences. With still images, it allows for richer expression of shadow tones in RAW data. With video, it enables 13+-stop V-Log/V-Gamut recording.

REAL-TIME LUT

LUTs can be applied to photos and videos on the camera body itself, allowing you to create photos and videos straight out of the camera. Supports ".VLT" and ".CUBE" file formats. By utilizing this feature, you can save time on the complicated post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them on the camera.

LENS 12-60MM F/2.8-4.0 LEICA DG VARIO ELMARIT ASPH POWER OIS

Spanning a useful wide-angle to short telephoto range, the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 ASPH POWER O.I.S. Lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Designed in collaboration with Leica, this versatile lens utilizes four aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements to deliver well-corrected, sharp image quality that is void of color fringing and distortions. The lens also makes use of a linear motor for fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance, and the POWER Optical Image Stabilizer system helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Additionally, the durable metal body of the lens renders it splash, dust, and freezeproof to suit its use in trying environmental conditions.

1. Which mirrorless camera should I choose for better photo results?

Choosing the right mirrorless camera for better photo results depends on your individual needs and budget. The Sony Alpha a7 III is a popular choice, offering excellent dynamic range and efficient autofocus. The Canon EOS R6 also boasts high technical performance, including powerful image stabilisation. The Nikon Z6 II is another attractive choice with excellent dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. It's important to consider the features of each model, the choice of lenses and the ability to suit your shooting style. It is recommended to read reviews and test equipment before buying, if possible.

2. What are the advantages of mirrorless cameras compared to DSLR cameras?

The advantages of mirrorless cameras over DSLR cameras include modern technology and lightness. Mirrorless cameras are more compact and lighter, making them more comfortable to carry. They often have a smaller body because they do not have a mirror system, which reduces the overall weight. The use of an electronic viewfinder allows the actual frame to be seen before the picture is taken, thus optimising composition and exposure. Mirrorless cameras have fast autofocus and some models may perform better in low light conditions. They also offer more creative options, including a range of filters and effects. The new generation of lenses offers improved performance and efficiency, contributing to higher quality photos. However, every photographer's needs are different, so it is important to consider your preferences carefully before choosing a camera.
