DescriptionLaowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Canon EF (Auto Aperture) description

The Laowa CA-Dreamer 100mm f/2.8 Macro 2:1 is a classic 100mm macro lens, offering a scale of reproduction and apochromatic imaging characteristics unmatched by its competitors. This is a lens that will become your favourite companion on your journey into the world of macro photography and an indispensable tool for creating fantastic portraits. Closer than the competition 100mm is one of the most common focal lengths among macro photography lenses. Most such designs offer a reproduction scale of 1:1. But not Laowa! The designers have once again gone a step further by creating a unique lens of comparable size, but with twice the magnification of 2:1. With it, you won't miss even the smallest details. Aberration-free quality The apochromatic construction of the lens is designed for the best quality of the drawn image. The 12 lenses arranged in 10 groups guarantee an image that is pleasing to the eye, with adequate sharpness and microcontrast. Thanks to three special elements, chromatic aberration is reduced to a minimum in both the in-focus and out-of-focus areas. From a grain of sand to the desert With its maximum reproduction scale of 2:1, the Laowa CA-Dreamer 100 mm f/2.8 allows objects as small as a grain of sand to be photographed. However, this does not mean that macro photography is the only area of this lens. The infinity focusing capability will allow you to capture fantastic portraits against blurred backgrounds, as well as show off the beauty of the surrounding world in landscape shots. Full control The Laowa CA-Dreamer 100mm f/2.8 with Canon EF mount features an electronically controlled aperture from the camera body. Sharpening is carried out manually using a smoothly operating setting ring. This gives you precise control over the look of the photo or video you take. All lens settings are transmitted to the camera in the EXIF data. Accessories A set of useful accessories is included with the lens: front and rear lens hoods, sunshade and UV filter. In addition, the lens can be fitted with an optional tripod mount. 1. How to choose the right lens for a mirrorless camera?

When choosing the right lens for a mirrorless camera, it is important to consider your photography needs and style. First, decide on the resolution and focusing distance you require. For portraits, lenses with a wide aperture, such as a 50mm f/1.8, are often preferred. If you enjoy landscapes, go for a wide-angle lens (e.g., 24mm). To capture distant objects, telephoto lenses (e.g., 70-200mm) are useful. Another important factor is the lens’s light-gathering ability, which affects performance in low-light conditions. A stabilization system can also be important, especially for longer lenses. It’s important to evaluate the build quality of the lens and the manufacturer's reputation. Try out several lenses and consider your future needs to choose the right and long-lasting investment in your photography.

2. Are all lenses compatible with all mirrorless cameras?

Not all lenses are universal for all mirrorless cameras. Different manufacturers may have different mounts, so it is important to check the lens compatibility with your camera. For example, lenses for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and other manufacturers' mirrorless cameras may not be interchangeable without adapters. It is also important to consider the sensor size. APS-C lenses may be disproportionately large for full-frame cameras. Before purchasing a lens, it is advisable to check the manufacturer's compatibility chart and consider the specific requirements of your camera. Adapters can allow the use of third-party lenses, but there may be some loss in functionality or quality.
