DescriptionCanon Speedlite EL-1 (Ver.2) description

Canon Speedlite EL-1 (Ver.2) - ideal for Red Carpet / News, Action Sports & Wildlife, On-location Creative. For those unrepeatable moments — when you can’t ask your subject to ‘do it one more time’ — the EL-1 (Ver.2) delivers absolute reliability and blistering performance. With both radio and optical triggering, you can control the EL-1 (Ver.2) wirelessly from anywhere in the scene. Connect multiple Speedlites as individual units or in groups to unlock more highly creative lighting possibilities. Preview your flash output and see where shadows will fall using the built-in bi-colour LED modelling light. Maintain shot-to-shot consistency of manual flash exposures with the added convenience of E-TTL, thanks to Flash Exposure (FE) Memory. And with all this performance packed in, the EL-1 (Ver2.) runs on the high-capacity LP-EL battery—delivering up to 340 Full Power shots on a single charge.

PREPARED FOR EVERY MOMENT

Be ready for anything. Super-fast 0.1-0.9 sec recycle times mean bursts of up to 170 full-power flashes, plus high speed bursts at lower power levels are also possible.

POWER WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST

A high-performance LP-EL battery powers the EL-1 (Ver.2)'s blisteringly fast shooting speeds and shot-to-shot reliability. Expect up to 2380 flashes from a single charge. An accurate battery level indicator 3 lets you know when it’s time to recharge or replace your power source.

SHOOT WITH CONFIDENCE

When the pressure’s on, you can count on the EL-1 (Ver.2) to deliver. It’s guide number of 58m is backed up by the same degree of dust and water resistance as Canon's L-Series lenses. An active cooling system prevents overheating, so you can shoot for longer.

FLEXIBILITY AND CONTROL

Light your subject from anywhere in the scene, controlling the EL-1 (Ver.2) wirelessly with a radio or optical trigger. Use multiple Speedlites together (as individual units or groups) for highly creative lighting.

BE MORE CREATIVE WITH YOUR LIGHTING

A built-in bi-colour LED modelling light lets you see where and how the EL-1 (Ver.2)'s flash output will look, and preview where shadows will fall. Manual flash output can be varied between full and 1/8192 power.

1. How to Choose the Right Flash for Your Camera?

The choice depends on your photography needs. First, pay attention to your camera type and model, as not all flashes are compatible with all devices. Then, consider several important factors, such as power and features, like remote control. Evaluate the flash power and control functions according to your needs: for illuminating photos, portraits, or professional photography. Also, consider the importance of mobility and the power source (usually batteries). If you're a beginner, it may be worth considering simpler flashes with automatic features. Professionals may find it important to choose flashes with many adjustment options. Most importantly, choose a flash that fits your needs and allows you to expand your photography possibilities.

2. How to Avoid Too Bright or Too Shadowed Flash Effects in Photos?

Too bright or too shadowy a flash can affect the quality of your photo. To avoid overly intense light effects, adjust the flash power based on ambient lighting. If the flash is too shadowy, try using a light diffuser or bouncing the light off surfaces to reduce the contrast between light and dark areas. You can also try directing the flash toward the ceiling or other surfaces so the light bounces and spreads in the environment. Experiment with settings to achieve a balanced and natural result.
