The Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 is a computerized 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope featuring integrated Wi-Fi, precision GoTo technology, StarBright XLT optical coatings, and a built-in LiFePO4 rechargeable battery. Designed for visual observation, it can be controlled via the free SkyPortal app for iOS and Android devices.
The NexStar Evolution 8 combines a compact 203.2mm Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube with a computerized single fork arm GoTo mount. The telescope delivers a focal length of 2032mm at f/10 and is equipped with premium StarBright XLT coatings for enhanced light transmission.
The mount utilizes high-performance brass worm gears and DC servo motors for improved tracking precision and reduced backlash. Built-in Wi-Fi allows wireless telescope control using the SkyPortal application powered by SkySafari.
The NexStar+ database contains more than 40,000 celestial objects, including leading deep-sky and solar system targets. Multiple alignment procedures are supported for flexible setup and operation.
The integrated lithium-iron phosphate battery provides enough power for up to 10 hours of continuous observing without requiring an external power source.
