The Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor is an adjustable high brightness monitor designed for the Blackmagic PYXIS camera. But it's more than just a simple external monitor: it's a powerful extension of the camera with a touchscreen display allowing you to control all the camera's functions! With multiple mounting points, it can be easily attached directly to the camera as a large viewfinder or to any camera assembly for easier focusing and shot composition.
It can also be used as an auxiliary monitoring station so the crew can monitor footage from any position on set! The bright 1500 cd/m2 high brightness screen makes it easy to view even in bright sunlight. The monitor also has a removable sun visor, which additionally protects the monitor when folded up when not in use or when traveling.
The monitor's solid metal construction perfectly matches the industrial design of the Blackmagic PYXIS and Blackmagic URSA Cine cameras. When recording, the monitor features a bright indicator light that is easily visible from a distance. Additionally, there are three customizable buttons for quick access to zebra function, focus assist, false colors and more.
The monitor is very easy to install as it connects to the camera with a single USB-C cable. This single cable carries video, power, and camera control! The USB cable has locking screws on both ends for a secure, reliable connection. The touchscreen display allows you to control all camera functions and provides access to all Blackmagic PYXIS menus. It even allows you to open metadata settings and enter image information. Or load custom 3D LUT corrections.
It is designed to offer multiple mounting options that make it easy to mount the monitor in any position. Works with any 1/4″ threaded brackets and supports standard 1/4″ positioning pins. With a USB connection, the monitor can also be mounted off-camera, on other accessories such as cranes or stabilizers, to maintain full camera control and preview footage even when the camera is out of reach. In addition to standard mounting options, it is available in kits with brackets designed specifically for Blackmagic PYXIS and URSA Cine cameras. The monitor also works perfectly with the Blackmagic URSA Cine camera. When mounted on the URSA Cine, the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor transforms into the ultimate large-format viewfinder. Just like the Blackmagic PYXIS, the URSA Cine supports the same USB-C connection that transmits video, power and camera control through a single cable. Mounting hardware is also provided for the URSA Cine and can be attached to the Blackmagic URSA Cine handle.
